Learn To Say No To Others
We’ve all been guilty of this at one point or another in our lives. Let’s face it: often times, we end up doing way too much for other people – and they don’t even deserve it! It might be in-built in you to prioritize other people, and you could be stretching yourself too thin to commit to everything you can. This way, you can forget to look after your own self sometimes. That’s why it is good to say no. Focus on yourself when you can, and don’t put yourself at the bottom of your priority list.
Work On Your Self-Trust
Hold on, ask yourself this question…..Do you actually trust your decisions? Do you allow yourself to trust your own instincts, and make decisions based on that? A great way to practice self-love is to trust yourself more. Make a conscious decision and stick with it.
No one knows what’s best for you more than yourself, and this self-trust will be your gateway to self-love. So, trust yourself before you can trust others, and always listen to your gut!
Challenge Yourself – And Hold Yourself Accountable
Here’s the thing: self love is not all about pedicures and bubble baths. It’s also about pushing yourself, challenging yourself and putting yourself outside of your comfort zone. This way, you get to learn much more about yourself and what you’re capable of. Just go for it, and watch what happens! Make A List Of Your Accomplishments
And by accomplishments, we don’t mean the ones you list on your résumé. Create a list of all the things that make you love yourself. That make you feel good about yourself. It’s important to find happiness in the things you’ve accomplished in your life – through your kindness, love and positivity. Often times, we focus too much on the negatives and forget about the positives. So this is a great way to remind yourself of everything you appreciate and cherish about yourself.
Start A Journal
Starting a journal doesn’t seem to have a connection with self-love. Except, it does. If you can write down your feelings and thoughts and record them for yourself, you can revisit them at a later time and see how you coped with certain situations. This is a positive way for you to experience catharsis, get rid of any negative experiences and feelings, and help you focus on your own awesomeness! Go back and read your journey to hear the way which we see ourselves. Many times we don’t realize how critical we can be on ourselves until we read our own words so pay attention to what you are thinking.
Travel Once A Year
If it’s feasible for you – do make an effort to travel somewhere at least once a year (even if that requires a few months of saving up!). Technology has enabled us to travel the world for a fraction of the price so plan to get out and explore. This may be completely out of your comfort zone, but that’s a good thing! Traveling solo is an amazing self-love experience. This way, you get to learn new things about yourself, as well as other cultures. It also helps you refresh your mind and soul before you return to your normal routine. And let’s face it, we could all use a mental reset every now and then!!
Take Care Of Yourself
This is an obvious one, but taking care of yourself plays a big part in learning how to love yourself, and too many people forget to do it! Taking care of yourself involves loving yourself, trying to stay healthy, keeping yourself open to new experiences, and willing to constantly evolve as a person. When you truly take care of you, you get to be the best version of yourself. And that should be the first outcome of radical self love! Rather than being so critical of yourself, start being your own life coach. Push yourself in the right direction and into a positive light will help eliminate any room for doubts or negativity. Understand that in life you will have ups and downs, its just apart of being human. But the more you can learn to love yourself on this journey called life the more successful your life will be. When you love yourself first, the world can love you.
