How Women Can Thrive Through The Pandemic

The Corona Virus has had a huge impact globally. Many states have been seeing closures from public places, including theaters, museums, fitness centers, and community clubs. This has had a huge impact on the emotional state of everyone, but especially women.  Women thrive in communities and now that social distancing has become the norm, its the new way of life for many of us. Due to this, we are noticing an increased number of people expressing a higher level of anxiety, depression, and or loneliness. Social distancing has come and disrupted the regular way of life as we know it. Now that we are faced with staying indoors and most if not all of our networking events have been canceled, we have to find new ways to motivate ourselves.

If you stay in a large crowded city, it will be especially harder for you to go out and get fresh air with the parks being closed. But maximize the time that you do have to do things that bring happiness into your life. Don’t allow your anxiety to get the best of you. This pandemic is going to be the new normal for many of us for at least a few more weeks if not months….

Social distancing helps us slow the spread of COVID-19, but this type of isolation can take a toll on our emotional and physical health.

Here are some ways that you can stay happy and healthy during this time. Although we don’t know what the future holds, we can control our space from day to day.

Follow these tips to maximize your days during the pandemic:

Find Your Why

Think about all the things you’ve ever wanted to do, but didn’t have the time. Now is the time you can support your ideas and start putting them into action.  Stay focused and write your goals down. Learn different techniques for time-management. Invest in yourself- Have a class or skillset that you’ve always wanted to learn, but never had the time? Now is the time. Figure out a way to make your business a virtual experience and take it to the next level.

Work on your weaknesses

If you know that staying on schedule with working out daily is a problem, now is the time to really make sure you are maximizing your time. Recognize and accept your weaknesses by accepting your weakness you can work on fixing it. You can’t turn a weakness into a strength if you’re busy denying the weakness exists. Get support from others if you need help with something, but don’t do it alone if you don’t have to.

Join A Community Online

Join an online network with others who are similar to you. Start Networking Online……

People are online and have time on their hands more than ever. If your business isn’t online, now is the time to try to figure out a way to put it online.  For example, we just created a new mobile app for women to connect and support one another. The new mobile app is now available for a one-time download fee of $4.99. Women can use our app to talk to other women about what’s going on in their lives. We can have a digital space where we can connect with one another and unite and get through these times.

Create a daily schedule for yourself

When you have your days planned out, you can maximize your time and all activities planned during the day. Having that structure allows you to be more productive and focused. While creating this schedule make sure you include personal time.

Find some type of exercise or meditation activity each day.

Set aside some time to have that one mental break during the day. (you owe it to yourself) The benefits of meditation and having personal care can’t be measured.

Do something meaningful like check up on your friends, check up on family, make sure what you are doing is something that can benefit others. You would be surprised how many of your friends that you haven’t heard from in a while are eager to talk to you. Don’t feel isolated during this time.

As women, we need to monitor our emotional health with just as much vigilance as we do our physical health, especially during this crisis that brings with it a period of elevated and prolonged stress. It is important to address emotional health issues such as loneliness and stress, as well as mental health issues such as anxiety and depression when they come up and try to prevent them from getting out of hand. Seek support from others if you feel you are facing this in your life.

In this period of social distancing, now is the time to connect more than ever.
