The Benefits of Showing Gratitude Each Day

Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough. – Oprah

As we approach the holidays for many it’s a time to reflect on the past year and all of the things that have happened. Particularly, Thanksgiving is a time when we can self reflect everything that we’re grateful for. Sometimes in the madness of the holiday season, it’s easy to forget to be thankful for all the awesome things we are given in life each day.

Did you know that studies have actually proven that people who show gratitude from day to day live healthier and happier lives?

Although the notion that the glass is half full instead of empty isn’t something we haven’t heard before, I will break down easy ways to show gratitude each day. These are the types of tips that you can start integrating into your life right now and see if it makes a difference for you. A life without gratitude could turn into an unhappy, unfilled life and I know that when you know better you do better. Integrating daily gratitude practices into your life could help you in accomplishing your goals, hopes, and aspirations.

The thing with showing gratitude to others is that it actually helps you way more than the person you’re showing gratitude towards. When you feel grateful and show thanks for what you have in your life experiences you will find that void of not having enough subside. You’ll also find yourself more content with the present moment. As the CEO of TechMae, my Co-Founder Vanessa has taught me the importance of being in the present moment. She practices daily gratitude and has been a great force on integrating great fundamental practices for TechMae.  Personally, I have found that I’m more satisfied with where I’m at instead of where I’m trying to go by changing my mindset. I can ensure you that once you start practicing daily gratitude, not only will it improve your life, but the people around you will also be influenced and inspired.

Examples of How You Can Show Gratitude Daily:

  • Share your talents with the world
  • Do random acts of kindness
  • Look for the best in people
  • Let someone know exactly why you are grateful to have them in your life
  • When interacting with others, make eye contact and smile
  • Make someone’s day by giving out compliments
  • Remember the small details and write them down in a journal.
  • Celebrate others success as if they were your own
  • When people are in need, step up
  • Pay it Forward
  • Tip Generously
  • Be an active listener
  • Be a thoughtful gift-giver
  • Give the gift of time
